Interested in participating in Argentine democracy? Why not buy a couple of votes for the next election on eBay? Yes, a group of Argentines have started “auctioning” their votes for the next presidential election on eBay. According to this BBC article…

“Opening prices for the votes range from 1 peso ($0.30) to 300 pesos ($95). Argentine electoral authorities say they can do little to stop the practice because it falls into a legal vacuum”

I tried to find some of these auctions on eBay / Mercadolibre but couldn’t find any, I guess the sites removed them after the press wrote about it. Or maybe the votes were sold. I’m sure most candidates read the news and thought “I wish it were so easy to buy people’s votes ”
