US Hispanics use the Internet less than others.

An article on the Argentine newspaper La Nación shows the results of a study carried out by “Centro Hispano Pew” in the US. The study concludes that a smaller proportion of the US Hispanic population uses the Internet in comparison with non Hispanic whites and non Hispanic blacks.

Apparently, 56% of Hispanics use the Internet in comparison with 71% of non Hispanic whites and 60 % of non Hispanic blacks.

The study also explains how there is a strong difference between those who were born in the US and immigrants, this particular detail is very interesting:

- From those who speak Spanish only, 32% use the Internet.
- From those who speak Spanish and English, 76% use the Internet.
-
From those who speak English only, 78% use the Internet.

From a market research standpoint I would think that most of those who are bilingual or speak only English are what some people call “acculturated”, in other words people who behave no different from the normal American.
